Types of Data Safety

It also involves disposing of physical storage devices, such as external drives and USBs (and even printed documents and documents) properly on a regular basis to avoid the information from being uncovered by hackers or falling into the wrong hands.

Data security is a key business concern because a major data breach could cost companies millions in recovering and forensic costs including compliance fines as well as permanent damage to reputation and loyalty. It’s a legal requirement as well, since the General Data Protection Regulation and California Consumer Privacy Act both require companies to protect their personal data.
